Authorities seize drugs worth $29m hidden in vehicles being transported on vessel

Two men aged 22 and 19 have been charged with attempting to possess a commercial quantity of cocaine.

Australian authorities received information that cocaine was destined for Adelaide, being concealed inside buses on a car-carrying vessel coming from Asia.

The first port of call in Australia was Fremantle. It is here that the AFP & ABF officers boarded the car-carrying vessel & conducted searches of the buses. 139kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of $45 million was found concealed in 4 of the buses.

Officers substituted the cocaine and allowed the vessel to sail on to Adelaide as scheduled.

On the 3rd of February, the two men were caught while allegedly trying to force entry into the buses to retrieve their illicit cargo.
